Watercolor of the great whales

Watercolor was the last medium that I have journeyed to master. The style of watercolor which I have chosen is a combination of free flowing and the more opaque high detail.
I love this medium for creating portraits. It allows me to give less importance to the background and more focus on people and their personalities. However, whether I create portraits, wildlife, or scenery, I love the free flowing of the watercolor to express many moods of a work of art.
I also love texture and the many papers available to work with in watercolor. Often I will even make a custom paper and use it along with watercolor to create pieces like room dividers, fireplace screens, and nightlight paintings. These paintings can be done on a handmade paper and applied to Plexiglas. They can be framed in a shadowbox with lighting inside or on panel dividers that I create for fireplace screens.
