Portrait in watercolor of a young girl in her sunday best

The most important thing in a personal portrait to me is the windows to the soul, the eyes. I don't care which medium; oil, watercolor, charcoals, etc that is used it's most important to capture that as well as the expression of their inner nature.
Some of the most interesting portraits I've done have been capturing people enjoying what they like to do best; fishing, hunting, boating, or just being with friends.
Children that I have portrayed are captured in their early years when just developing their personality. Presenting them in that moment that one will always remember and because it truly depicts the spirit of the person. People are truly fascinating and each one is a work of art in their own right.
