| Holly Merrifield is a noted wildlife artist, especially for her work with conservation organizations and other works such as portraits, scenes, murals and architectural renderings. Her career began after attending the University of Wyoming and Holly has been a professional wildlife illustrator for over 30 years since. She is a very versatile artist and with some of her best known pieces called Scratchboards, which she is considered a master of in this difficult medium.
Besides the mediums of Scratchboard, Oil, Charcoal, and Pastel, Holly has mastered a refreshing style of Watercolor with vivid use of colors and uniqueness. As well as her creations in Wildlife, she has created a whimsical style of pet portraits for domestic animals which is extremelly popular amongst many pet owners. |

| Holly's career has brought her notoriety through being an illustrator for the Colorado Wildlife Federation during the 70's and 80's, also as a resident artist for 7 years at the Wildlife World Museum in Monument, Colorado during that same period. She has been commissioned for many commercial illustration projects; such as Cabella's Sporting Goods, Biology Digest, a variety of National Park and State Wildlife publications. Her most recent illustration project was the State of Montana's Game and Fish Poster which demonstrates 17 different species of Montana’s native fish. |  |
| Throughout her career Holly has been the recipient of numerous awards. From 1982 - 2002, Holly and her husband, Steve Lee, owned and operated World of Art. Hundreds of artists from around the country and consumers throught the west and midwest came to visit World of Art. Holly and Steve have also owned and operated 2 retail storefronts in Silveton and Durango Colorado, which has led them to their current endeavor of Affordable Framing Plus.
Affordable Framing Plus is in the heart of Durango, located at 955 Main Street where The Durango Silverton Railroad line runs tourists to Silverton and back 3 times a day. Durango has a great community of people and businesses; combine that with thriving tourism and you have a great place to run a custom frame store and gallery. Holly and Steve are kept very busy throughout the year with comissioned artwork, print orders and custom matt & framing. |
